The Kansas Tourism Mobile Visitor Center (MVC) is an exciting new project being unveiled in 2024!
The purpose of the MVC is to increase the number of visitors to Kansas and maximize to the positive impacts that travel has on the state and local economies through first person interaction and engagement at high profile and large attendance events and tradeshows, both in-state and out-of-state.
The MVC Manager will be responsible for all aspects of operations, management, reporting, scheduling, and staffing for the Kansas Tourism MVC. This position will recruit and oversee multiple employees for the MVC and will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and hospitality at all times.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Plans and attends events to provide information about traveling to and throughout Kansas in a friendly and courteous manner. Develops new and ongoing opportunities for the MVC engagement and success.Plans and coordinates all aspects of the MVC scheduling for both in-state and out-of-state events. Works with event organizers or management for applicable contracts and requirements.Provides monthly written reports of all MVC activities to director.Orders and manages inventory of brochures and all other materials distributed from the MVC.
Oversees all activities pertaining to the MVC regarding maintenance and general upkeep of the vehicle, trailer and supplies.
Provides full range direct supervision to all MVC staff. Explains all policies and procedures, trains, and monitors staff, establishes performance expectations, and assigns staff work hours. Develops partnerships with potential staffing opportunities.
Works closely with other Kansas Tourism staff for marketing initiatives, website updates, fiscal and contractual activities, brochure supply and other activities that further the mission of the MVC. Works closely with member of the tourism industry, Kansas Tourism staff, and partner divisions at the Department of Commerce to identify and schedule new opportunities for the MVC.
