Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00

Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Central Accountant – Business Systems Analyst

As a Business Systems Analyst on the Payroll Processing Team within the Office of Accounts and Reports you will be part of a dynamic, family-friendly team of subject matter experts supporting timely and accurate payroll processing and reporting for State of Kansas employees. The team utilizes PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, known as SHARP (Statewide Human Resource and Payroll System).

The position will execute a variety of payroll responsibilities with primary responsibility for daily and monthly payroll balancing. This position will also develop professional skills in the following areas:

  • Assisting state agency payroll staff with employee data, reconciliation and adjustments
  • Validating payroll balances and remittance payments
  • Managing banking transactions, including ACH and Check returns, file transmittals and cancellations
  • Monitoring employee telework for tax implications
  • Creating transactions in the statewide financial system
  • Maintaining payroll-related information on the agency website

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years of previous experience in professional payroll, accounting, and/or business systems analyst work. Education in accounting, business administration, finance, management information systems or related field may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business and/or accounting. Experience using PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.0 or higher. Background in payroll processing strongly preferred.
