Your Specific Responsibilities:

Position is expected to work 20 hours per week.

The individual in this position will work closely with the Community Health Improvement Coordinator and the Community Health Action Team Coordinator in the Office of Health Planning, Education, and Promotions to complete the Community Health Assessment. Duties will include:

  • Contribute to the Community Health Assessment utilizing the MAPP 2.0 framework
  • Collaborate with the four Community Health Action Teams to foster relationships and partnerships within the community
  • Deliver health education programs tailored to target populations
  • Address social and economic barriers to health across diverse demographics and age groups within Sarasota County
  • Participate in health fairs and community events to promote public health initiatives

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Use of Microsoft Office applications and design software such as Canva
  • Knowledge of public health planning

Qualifications:

Minimum –

  • Associate’s degree in public health, health science, or in another related field

Preferred –

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health science, or in another related field
