Class Title: Dental Assistant

Base Salary: $1,260.00– 1,386.00 biweekly

Florida Department of Health in Seminole County is looking for a self-motivated, hardworking individual to fill this position.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Perform four handed dentistry by passing correct instruments and materials.

Proficient in performing dental prophylaxis.

Apply fluoride varnish and give post care instructions.

Educate patients/parents on proper oral hygiene care.

Apply sealants without assistance of another.

Take impressions and pour models.

Set up trays with correct instruments for the procedure that is being performed.

Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment, ensures clinic follows OSHA and ADA guidelines.

Able to take panoramic, bitewings, and periapical digital x-rays.

Electronic Dental records, filled out accurately and complete.

Perform routine equipment maintenance.

Administrative

Schedules appointments, prepares bills and receives payment for dental services, maintain patient charts. Maintains supply inventory, ordering supplies.

Check Medicaid eligibility.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge and experience working as a Dental Assistant. Ability to work independently. Knowledge and experience with Dental Sterilizers, Dental software, Various dental equipment.

Qualifications:

Expanded Functions & Radiology Certifications.

This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. Emergency duties may also include in-state and/or out-of-state deployment.
