POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Field Services Bureau, reporting to the Audits and Compliance section. This is a full-time position. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting criminal and non-criminal justice agencies and the public by reviewing, analyzing, interpreting and resolving issues related to the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS). This position is responsible for researching issues and providing resolutions or routing the issue to the appropriate service area or section.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Evaluating and analyzing incoming requests and applying state and federal rules to formulate a recommendation and ensure compliance with agency requirements;
  • Facilitating the CJIS Access Review Process to include; assigning, processing reviews, and maintaining the Access Review spreadsheet log;
  • Maintaining liaison with internal and external customers regarding CJIS systems;
  • Assisting members or leadership with resolutions to both internal and external customers regarding questions or issues;
  • Maintaining various logs and records of the requests received and processed; and
  • Performing other related duties where appropriate or as requested by division leadership.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of experience in criminal justice, business administration, planning, research, analysis, evaluation, customer relations, or administrative work; or
  • 60 semester hours, or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university; or
  • Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of two years.

Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data; and
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, courteous and effective manner.

BASE SALARY:

$40,000.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant’s immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

NOTES:

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
