We are specifically looking for drivers in the following counties :
Harris, Marion, Wester, Calhoun, Early, Miller, Thomas, Pulaski, Bleckley, Dodge, Laurens, Wheeler, and Telfair.
A transit van driver is a professional who is responsible for transporting passengers in a van. The driver typically follows a set route or schedule and may make multiple stops along the way to pick up or drop off passengers.
Drivers will also be responsible for ensuring that passengers are secured in the van prior to continuing route.
Job Responsibilities :
Provide safe and efficient transportation for passengers. Operate the van on scheduled times, following a pre-determined route.
Pick up passengers on dispatched request for transportation. Operate the van on scheduled activities. Conduct a pre-trip and post- trip inspection of the vehicle each day.
Check for vehicle damages, monitor oil change requirements, etc. Report any issues with the vehicle to the supervisor. Complete maintenance requests.
Fuel van at the end of each shift and throughout the day as necessary. Clean the inside of the van at the end of each daily operation.
Behave in a courteous and respectful manner. Treat others with respect. Maintain all necessary records. Follow all established safety policies and procedures.
Follow all DOT guidelines and rules of the road. All other duties as assigned.
To be a transit van driver, individuals need to have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. They should also have good communication skills and be able to follow instructions and adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
Transit van drivers should also be able to work independently and be responsible and reliable.
Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance. Must wear closed toed shoes. Ability to complete required training and certifications after employment.
Experience is preferred. Basic computer knowledge is preferred. Ability to safely and correctly operate equipment.
This position will require candidates pass a drug test prior to employment.
