Assistant Head Cheer Coach

Position Description:

The Assistant Head Cheer Coach works closely with and reports to the Cheer Head Coach.

Responsibilities:

• Coach and instruct athletes, both individually and in groups, using appropriate cheer and cheer tumbling techniques and proper equipment.
• Lead and manage cheer tumbling sessions.
• Assist with choreography and preparing teams for competitions and performances.
• Assist with organizing and supervising cheer athletes in connection with competitions and showcases.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all athletes by teaching and reinforcing best safety practices.
• Develop and sustain positive relationships with athletes, families, and guests of The St. James
• Help maintain equipment and supplies in the Gymnastics Training Center.
• Some competition travel required.

Qualifications

• Four to five years of successful cheer and tumbling experience
• Level 2 coaching experience a plus.
• Strong tumbling background.
• Strong work ethic, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Customer service and communication skills.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• USA Cheer certification required post hire.
