Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for pediatric therapy services, and ensuring timely approvals from insurance providers.

This position would also oversee referrals.

Duties:
- Review and process prior authorization requests for medical services and procedures
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary information
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for requested services
- Submit authorization requests following established protocols and guidelines
- Monitor and track authorization statuses, escalating issues as needed
- Maintain accurate records of authorizations and referrral correspondence

- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding (ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Experience working in a medical office
- Knowledge of managed care principles and insurance verification processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
