The Sourdough Project is a small sourdough bakery focused primarily on cracker production. We're a tight knit team of four looking for our fifth member. This is long term position, for someone who wants to grow with our company. Special consideration given to applicants who are willing to work a weekend farmers market shift, either in addition or in exchange for a weekday shift. Bakers are expected to thrive in a fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail, and have the ability to multi-task. Working as a team and taking pride is a must!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, especially crackers, but possibly bread, cakes, and cookies
- Follow recipes and measurements accurately to ensure consistent quality
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Package finished products for display or delivery
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment are preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with food handling and safety regulations is preferred, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
Skills:
- Food Production: Understanding of food production processes and ability to work efficiently in a production environment
- Food Handling: Familiarity with proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met
- Packaging: Ability to package finished products neatly and attractively for display or delivery
- Food Industry: Understanding of the food industry trends, customer preferences, and quality standards
