The Source is Hiring a Group Facilitator - Art Therapist Near Fort Lauderdale, FL

The Source is a Joint Commission accredited addiction treatment facility that offers multiple levels of care to help men and women overcome alcohol and drug addiction. Our mission is to provide a family environment where clients get connected to their mind body and spirit, support groups, 12-step programs, and society.

We are looking for energetic, motivated substance abuse and dual diagnosis IOP for Day & Evening Group Facilitators. We seek like-minded people to assist clients in learning how to live life clean and sober. Additionally, a background in addictions is preferred and if you are trained in trauma informed care or approach, that is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate group therapy using Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Work in a safety-conscious manner that ensure safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or in the workplace.
  • Document the patient’s chart on a regular basis and complete the patient caseload in a timely manner.
  • Share pertinent information with the treatment team as obtained from the client, client’s family members, or significant others
  • Document provided services in progress notes in a clear, concise, timely manner.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate as a team member in all treatment team meetings and provide input regarding patients’ needs and requirements.
  • Meets with supervisor on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and or improving services
  • Assist in developing aspects of treatment plans and treatment plan updates in collaboration with other treatment team members.
  • Share pertinent information with the team as obtained from patients or family throughout the program.
  • Effective time management.
  • Attend monthly staffing meetings.
  • Continue with educational courses and in-services training, per policies and procedures.
  • Update knowledge of community resources on a continuous basis.
  • Respond positively to changing situations in the work setting.
  • Work as a team member, demonstrating maturity under stress and objectivity.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Perform in a professional manner and role model a positive image of mental health.
  • Report abuse of patients’ rights immediately.
  • Participate in obtaining the patient’s informed consent for procedures, treatments, and research, as appropriate.
  • Act decisively and effectively in managing staff, patients, and other employees during an emergency.
  • Perform other capacities as needed.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work as a team member and have management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal & Written Communication Skills.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.
  • Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program.
  • Knowledge of currently utilized technology.

EDUCATION:

  • Licensed Mental Health/Social Work Professional and or Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of two years’ experience of substance abuse treatment and a minimum of one year of experience in a partial hospitalization program or another mental health setting.
