The Smile Shoppe, a growing orthodontic office characterized by teamwork, compassion and service is looking for an EFDA (or dental hygienist) that is looking to work 2-4 days per week in an orthodontic setting as an orthodontic assistant. In addition to performing debonding of appliances and removing cements, and ideal candidate will also be taking impressions / fitting bands and performing other orthodontic assisting procedures.

Training will be provided to the right person with eagerness to learn and who is interested in a long-term rewarding career.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Performing orthodontic debonding / removal of cements
• Chairside orthodontic assisting
• Preparation of teeth for bonding of brackets
• Seating and removal of bands / appliances
• Removal and placement of wires
• Placing separators
• Placing ligature / lace ties
• Provide a comfortable and exceptional patient experience

Applicant must have:

• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) - or - Dental Hygiene
• Current dental radiography license
• Hep B series / vaccination
• Basic knowledge of dental / orthodontic terminology
• 1 year(s) of orthodontic / dental experience

This is a 16-34 hour per week (2 days to 4 days (preferred)) and would be located in our Athens office (most days) with 3-4 days per month in our Logan office.
