The Smile Center is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Ashland, VA

A dental assistant is the right (and sometimes left) hand of the Dentist, an office cannot run smoothly without one! That is why we are looking to add a friendly and professional dental assistant to our team at Smile Center.

We thrive on working as a team and delivering high-quality patient care for our patients, in a family-type atmosphere! And we have fun doing it! We are a close-knit group who enjoys working together, learning together in continuing education, and even playing together outside of the office. We are committed to continual improvement! Hours:

M - Th 8am - 5pm || Fri 8am- 1pm

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • Dental Assisting education
  • Current license/certifications
  • Xray Certification required
  • Dental Assisting experience required

Requirements & Contributions to the team:

  • Prepare patients, sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, or assist dentist during dental procedures.
  • Dental diagnostic x-rays.
  • Record treatment information in patient records.
  • Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by the dentist.
  • Assist dentists in management of medical or dental emergencies.
  • Pour, trim, and polish study casts.
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
  • Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
  • Clean and polish removable appliances.
  • Clean teeth, using dental instruments.
  • Apply protective coating of fluoride to teeth.
  • Fabricate temporary restorations or custom impressions from preliminary impressions
  • Other duties related to the dental assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
