What you’ll do:
The Maintenance Custodian position is responsible for external and internal appearance and cleanliness of our building(s). It is important for a custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, sanitizing, and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep, general maintenance, janitorial work, and have good physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean restrooms and sanitize sinks, toilets, and urinals
- Sweep and mop floors and replenish paper products, i.e., restrooms
- Salt walkways during winter months
- Pick up trash and empty all trash containers
- Lawn care, i.e., pull weeds
- Dust all furniture, chairs, desks, filing cabinets, and wall hangings (artwork)
- Clean carpeted areas as needed
- Mop linoleum floors and sweep all carpeted areas
- Clean all glass (inside/out) doors, windows, and mirrors
- Change light bulbs as needed
- Clean mini blinds as needed
- Set up conference/meeting/show/event rooms with tables, chairs, etc. as needed
- Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up the alarm
- Undertake other occasional custodial and janitorial tasks as requested
What you need to be successful:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1-2 years proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Custodian experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred
- Knowledge of use of cleaning equipment and appliances
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Very good physical condition and strength
