Our Research and Development (R&D) team is seeking a technician to synthesis and analysis custom chemicals for sampling to potential customers; set up and run reactors for chemists and themselves in the laboratory; assist in pilot plant scale ups, maintain the general cleanliness of the laboratory; keep supplies stocked; and update computer databases that provide important inventory and safety information.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform lab-scale chemical processes to support new product development and raw material qualification projects
• Document and analyze data from laboratory and pilot-plant operations
• Assure standards of safety, environmental, team and individual performance are met in a high-performance team-based organization 
• Organize and maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, facilities
• Organize and execute tasks effectively
• Troubleshoot problems and use critical thinking
• Interact with internal personnel and customers to acquire and exchange information
• May include some off-shift and weekend work monitoring experiments
• Requires tow motor operation
• General housekeeping duties in the laboratory and pilot plant
• Pilot plant operation
• Perform additional tasks as needed and directed by their manager.

Education/Experience

• Associates Degree in chemical technology or a closely related field 

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of chemical plant equipment, processes, and testing
• Mechanical knowledge of chemical equipment including reactors, piping, and pressure vessels 
• Strong math skills
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a chemical manufacturing setting
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a chemical laboratory setting
• Demonstrated desire for personal development (continuing education, volunteer work, etc.)
• Willing to perform required tasks and physical labor
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
