Position Description: OVERVIEW
Evaluation of the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit with Shelby State Bank. Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for SSB officers on new, renewal and existing loans.
Responsibilities and Results:
\tPrepare loan approval packages in partnership with Loan Officer, Credit Officer, Senior Lender for credit decisioning.
\tProvide complete analysis of loan approval package for new credit requests, as well as annual reviews of existing relationships, utilizing various underwriting methods as established by the Credit Officer, Senior Lender and the Bank Loan Policy.
\tEvaluates the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit with Shelby State Bank. The type of analysis includes, but is not limited to, data entry of financial information, spread/trend analysis, cash flow, collateral, personal financial information and loan grading.
\tAnalyze financial information to identify key strengths and credit risks and mitigating factors associated with loan requests.
\tAssists in determining appropriate loan structures and banking solutions to meet customer needs.
\tAbility to provide analysis to identify trends.
\tSpecial projects as required.
\tPerform other duties as assigned and/or necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
\tBachelors degree in business, accounting, economics, or related field required.
Work Experience:
\t1 years banking/finance experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
\tAbility to work independently.
\tKnowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel and various other programs is required.
\tMust have good math skills.
\tIn-dept knowledge of lending and non-lending banking products and services.
\tCommercial lending, residential mortgage lending and consumer lending exposure.
\tOrganization and filing skills are essential.
\tExcellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with others is expected.
Other Job Responsibilities:
\tMust be able to keep all sensitive information confidential.
\tSpeed and accurate use of computer, calculator and other business machines is required.
\tWillingness to assume new responsibilities, ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing and possibly stressful environment is expected.
\tPositively contributes to the success of others by assisting fellow team members or departments.
\tThe ability to identify, assist with and resolve routine problems is expected.
\tWorking hours may vary.
\tOn time attendance is expected.
Working Conditions:
\tGenerally good with some exposure to noise, heat, dust or other adverse factors.
\tClimbing of stairs and some lifting of heavy items.
\tA high amount of pressure to work efficiently, accurately and maintain good employee and customer relations.
\tConsiderable effort and eye strain from computer work and continued checking of all detail work in the department.
