The Seattle Times has an opening for a creative, energetic Graphic Artist who specializes in data visualization and/or science illustration to join our visual team. We cover news and events that impact the people who live, work and care about Seattle and the surrounding region. In addition to providing excellent journalism, our team uses charting, mapping, illustration and interactivity to explain to and engage with our audiences both in print and on our digital platforms.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on deadline in a fast-paced environment. The graphic artist will be responsible for examining data sets, building relevant charts and maps, as well as interactive projects. They should be a self-starter who is able to think creatively and provide visual solutions to enhance and support our journalism.

Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $41,600 to $96,600. We typically pay between $55,000 and $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
