The Schuett Companies, Inc. is Hiring a Facilities Director Near Saint Paul, MN

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities. As the Director of Facilities, you will be responsible for managing a team and ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and meet the needs of our organization. This is a leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent management skills, and a commitment to providing a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure the proper functioning of all facilities
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Manage the scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance tasks
- Supervise a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement or repair
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
- Develop and manage the facilities budget, including cost control measures
- Collaborate with other departments to address facility-related needs or issues
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in facilities management

Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Experience in maintenance management, including scheduling and prioritizing tasks
- Knowledge of low voltage systems, such as fire alarms or security systems
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and their maintenance requirements
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing issues
- Knowledge of facilities management principles and practices

5-7 years of experience in commercial or residential building operations.

Must possess valid licenses as required for site operation (site specific).

Must be able to fulfill on call requirements as required.

Must have strong working knowledge in environmental regulatory compliance related to fire, safety, OSHA.

A minimum of three years management experience, specifically in managing two or more staff, managing at a department or supervisor level, direct budget responsibilities, managing oversight of more than one trade discipline, project management responsibilities.

Systems view understanding of site operations and managing departments.

Computer competency in programs necessary for jobs success including Microsoft Office products.

Demonstrated organizational, administrative, leadership and prioritization skills.

Must have flexibility, personal integrity and ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, family members and the general public.

Must be able to participate in an after hours emergency on-call rotation consisting of one week on-call at a frequency depending on the size of the on-call group.
