As of September 2019, we continue to seek candidates for the following positions:
Your application will be reviewed within one week of submission, and if you pass the review process, you will be entered into the talent pool for your respective content area(s) and be eligible to apply and interview for school specific positions. If you are a candidate for Art, Music, Speech Language Pathologist, Hearing Impaired, or Vision Impaired teaching roles, the initial screening process will also include either an interview, a portfolio review, or an audition.
Once you receive an offer, we will ask for transcripts and background clearances, but they are not required for your initial application.

Job Summary
A teacher in the School District of Philadelphia plans and teaches their subject area, following the scope and sequence for all courses; provides instruction to students in a variety of planned courses; provides the use of real life applications and simulations to instruct students in the analysis and interpretation of material being presented; instructs the use of tools, materials, processes and applications of technology, including pertinent software applications, in the development of lessons; and uses formal and informal classroom and district assessments.
Essential Functions
Minimum Requirements
Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in respective grade level, and endorsements in respective subject area.
Presentation of an original, signed letter from the Certification Officer of an accredited college or university verifying current enrollment in an approved certification program in order to be eligible for an Emergency Permit.

As you are working on your application, you can work on, save, and go back to your cover letter and the application itself. For your application to be considered complete, you must submit all of the above. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered during the selection process.
