We are currently recruiting for the position of:

Director, Contract Compliance - Modesto, CA

The Director, Contract Compliance oversees and ensures adherence to contractual agreements with external suppliers/wholesalers and The Save Mart Companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develops a long term tactical and operational plans with measurable contribution to accomplish job area responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Auditing: Establish monitoring and auditing processes to regularly assess compliance with contractual obligations. Calculate expected rebate amounts and reconcile. Review all applicable financial charges and fees to ensure compliance with the contract. Monitor cash discounts offered and compare rates. Coordinate all audits of fees and services identified in the contract. Review all items billed and credited on the weekly statements. Track all credits requested to ensure they are issued for the correct amounts and are issued on a timely basis. Work with supplier partners to be certain that the WMS inventory amounts are in synch and reconciled. Track Post Audit activities. Track volume exceptions and reconcile with appropriate rebates and fee exclusions. Monitor the following items; store credits, cycle counts, cost of goods, purchase order variances, inbound transportation revenue, and excess inventory related to ad bookings and forecasts.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure contract compliance across the organization.
  • Communication: Liaise with various departments to communicate contract requirements and ensure understanding and compliance. Assist merchandising team with the review and reconciliation of weekly cost look ahead files.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks related to contract compliance and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on contract compliance status and present findings to senior management.
  • Training/Education: Provide training to relevant staff members on contract compliance policies and procedures. Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact contract compliance.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve disputes and conflicts related to contract compliance in collaboration with legal and other relevant departments.
  • Contract Negotiation Support: Work closely with legal teams during contract negotiations to ensure terms and conditions align with compliance standards.

Hiring pay range: $129,948.00 - 170,557.00

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required
  • Experience in contract management, compliance, or a related field, with progressive
responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of contract law and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to analyze complex contractual documents and identify compliance issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various
stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills to drive compliance initiatives.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address compliance challenges and implement solutions.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in contract compliance
assessments.

Experience: 10 years minimum related experience

Education/Licenses/Certifications: Required: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience/training Preferred: Masters Degree and/or equivalent experience/training
