Job Summary

• Executes planned activities for participants and youth which may include Day Camp Programs, after-school programs, and recreational classes;
• provides oversight of the game room as needed; make suggestions for planned recreational activities and play time; maintains program records, attendance records, parent sign in and out log;

maintains cleanliness and orderliness of Kroc Center Property

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development

Knowledge of the principles and practices of First Aid and ability to ensure the safety of participants

Ability to teach children Christian values

Ability to observe participants and ensure their safety

Ability to implement effective childhood programs and activities

Ability to multi-task and work in a highly demanding environment

Ability to problem solve and maintain a professional attitude while doing so

Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions with limited supervision

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language

Ability to interact with, build, and maintain effective working relationships with Salvation Army officers, staff, and volunteers

Ability to abide by Salvation Army policies and procedures and have an acceptance of the philosophy and mission

Must be self-motivated and able to make decisions in a fast- paced environment

Must be willing and able to assist with music and talent activities

Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Must have prior experience working with children

Meets attendance requirements

• Must be in good physical and mental health, capable of meeting the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs;
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs;

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or with noise, dust, dirt, and the like
