The Salvation Army is Hiring a Divisional Program Operations Director Near Louisville, KY

Job Summary:
Assists the Divisional Social Services Director in providing leadership and field service support to the broad area of social services including policies and standards, government welfare, federal and state social legislation, Christmas programs, Grants and Contracts, and inter-agency relationships. Assists the Divisional Social Services Director in leading best practices in program development, operations and requirements including program guidelines, residential program standards, records & reporting, program research and evaluation, program guidelines, initiating change and resolving programmatic problems. Provides training and guidance for Shelter/Housing practices. Facilitates all Social Services areas of Grants & Contracts Processing, Grants Compliance, and Divisional Case Management programming. Assumes additional department leadership responsibilities as delegated by the Divisional Social Services Director. Supervises assigned staff. Travel is required up to 15%.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of The Salvation Army’s mission, philosophy, protocol, and organizational structure.
Knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Knowledge of the methods and procedures used in reviewing and evaluating governing contracts.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret local, state, and federal rules and regulations governing grants, contracts/agreements, and religious non-profits.
Knowledge of legislation regulating contracts.
Ability to prepare and maintain administrative files on the progress of projects and contracts.
Ability and willingness to travel and remain away from home overnight if required.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete records, reports, and correspondence.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to type data into a computer with a high accuracy rate promptly.
Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints.
Ability to establish goals and objectives and monitor their effective implementation.
Ability to apply discretion and independent judgment and exercise confidentiality.
Ability to analyze complex documents and budgets and prepare detailed reports on the analysis.
Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all responsibilities in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; performs all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Social Work, Contract Management, or a related field, and a Master’s in social work preferred,
and
Five years of progressively responsible experience in social service program development and administration, contract management and administration, and/or service delivery preferably with Housing/Residential programs, with at least two years in a supervisory role,
or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certification Requirements:
Valid State Driver’s License
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Work requires the ability to lift and carry and push/pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a typical office environment with little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or pains associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
