The Salvation Army is Hiring a Corps Program Assistant - Full-time, NE, Memphis, Tennessee Near Memphis, TN

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Corps Program Assistant (full-time) for the Southern Territory, Memphis Kroc Center located in Memphis, Tennessee.
Job Summary
The Corps Program Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional support to the Corps Officers, the ministry team, and all facets of the Salvation Army Corps ministries. Duties shall include working closely with the officers in developing proposals for new programs based on the Needs Assessment and Long-Term Strategic Plan. This position is also responsible for supporting existing programs. Additionally, this position is responsible for administrative support for the smooth operation of all Corps functions. This includes but not limited to data entry and filing; processing a variety of routine paperwork necessary for office operations; assisting in facilitating programs; assisting with necessary support to ensure clear communication between Corps and other departments of Kroc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of general office principles, practices and procedures
Knowledge of the principles and practices of the supervision and management of personnel
Knowledge of the English language including proper grammar and punctuation
Knowledge of basic mathematics
Knowledge and skills in program planning
Ability to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures
Ability to learn and become proficient in specific computer software.
Ability to maintain an efficient and organized filing system to ensure that items can be retrieved in a timely manner
Ability to answer the telephone in a courteous and tactful manner
Ability to maintain the confidential nature of work
Ability to follow instructions, plan and organize work, and work under limited supervision
Ability to motivate a spirit of unity, loyalty and helpfulness within and among staff
Ability to plan and complete work in a manner while ensuring compliance with deadlines.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
Ability to plan work priorities, evaluate work performances and provide recommendations for improving productivity and efficiency of work.
Ability to make sound decisions and resolve operational problems in the absence of an immediate supervisor.
Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines.
Ability to determine the most effective and efficient method to accomplish work objectives and goals with limited supervision
Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, dictation machine, typewriter, computer and calculator.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with interruptions.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. required or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities. Some college helpful.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Manual dexterity
Travel via air and automobile .
Licenses & Certifications:
Must have a Valid Driver’s License
CPR/First Aid
