The Salvation Army is Hiring a Booth Towers Assistant Director Near Orlando, FL

JOB TITLE: TOWERS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Towers Assistant Director for the William Booth and Catherine Booth Towers located at the Orlando Area Command, located in Orlando, FL. They are low-income Senior living facilities.
Position Type & Pay Range: Regular Full-Time, exempt $45,089 – $50,720.
About this opportunity: Works with the WBT-CBT Administrator on the day to day operations of the programs and facilities; assists the Administrator in the implementation of program operations and services for both Towers; plans effective activities for the benefit of the residents of both Towers; in absence of Administrator ensures work is in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations; assists in research and preparation of proposals for program funding.
Assists the Towers Administrator to keep operations running smoothly and in compliance with established procedures from HUD and The Salvation Army.
Continual training in updated policies and procedures from HUD and The Salvation Army.
Acts as the Section 504 Coordinator: Reviews ADA requests from tenants. Assess requests to ensure compliance with the Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; Submits requests for approval to the Towers Administrator.
Assists with annual inspections; move-in and move-out inspections; assisting Service Coordinator with tenant issues including language assistance.
Facility maintenance assistance through tracking and follow through of work orders; keeping of the inventory of replacement equipment for apartments; tracking of unit turn-over to assure scheduling is on a timely basis.
Schedule transportation for residents’ weekly shopping and assists with the driving.
Assist with and monitor the Volunteers assigned through the Volunteer Services program.
Assist in the preparation of an annual program calendar in accordance with other Salvation Army programs.
Attends conferences and seminars for continued personal and professional development as directed by the Towers Administrator and/or Area Commander.
Assist with the Towers local Emergency Preparedness Plan and other responsibilities as directed by The Salvation Army as Management Agent and other disaster services as directed.
Performs other related work as required.
What we are looking for in you: Associates degree OR 3 years progressive experience working in the housing management industry OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that give the required level of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Approved background check required. Valid State Driver License required. CDL License required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to type and key data into a computer. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, typewriter, computer, and adding machine. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Works is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
