Location: Kerrville Kroc Center Kerrville, TX Position Type: Warehouse Worker & Truck Driver About this opportunity: Under the direction of the Family Store Manager, drives Salvation Army owned vehicle loading and unloading routine pickups and/or deliveries of material, donated or otherwise, to serve production needs of the store and/ or general operation of corps.Key responsibilities:Receives, inspects and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, Bric-a-brack, etc. according to the category and condition; selects items suitable for store display and distributes same to appropriate area for further sorting and/or pricing; discards items in accordance with established procedures. Maintains warehouse area in a neat and orderly manner; cleans floors, tables, and work areas. Drives Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations and/or delivery merchandise to customers. Reviews scheduled pick-ups to ensure they are scheduled for the correct day of the week and geographical location. What we are looking for in you:Valid State Driver’s License Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to drive a box truck safely and in compliance with laws, policies, and regulations. Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting. Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (more than 50 lbs.) frequently.
