The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has 3 openings for Summer Day Camp Program Aides for the Boys and Girls Club, located at our Mabee Red Shield location in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Job SummaryAssists Unit Director and the Assistant Unit Director for Programs with Summer Day Camp program. Interacts with children in recreational activities. Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure effectiveness and safety of members.Exhibits control of children and when needed, displays proper discipline techniques.Ensures productive work environment.Ensures that daily activities are in compliance with The Salvation Army Boys & girls Club policies and regulations.Assists in preparing and providing field trips for children.Assists in organizing, implementing and evaluating activities and programs for Summer Day Camp ProgramPerforms cleaning duties-taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming rooms and sweeping/mopping hallways or gym.May provide snacks to children.Assists and participates in regularly scheduled training sessions.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of principles/practices of First Aid and CPRAbility to ensure the safety of children.Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.Education and ExperienceHS diploma or GED AND two years of experience working with children OR and equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Certifications/Licenses CPR and First AidPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to meet attendance requirements.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) Duties are usually performed seated.
