SUMMARY

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of the full payroll lifecycle. Serves as a steward, with meticulous attention to detail to protect employee's livelihood and organizations financial health.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Ensures payroll processes are efficient, accurate and compliant with relevant laws and payroll tax obligations.
  • Manages employee inquiries as applicable and in a timely fashion.
  • Enters, maintains and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave, deductions and withholdings, tax updates, address changes and other information.
  • Pays employee wages, regular pay, overtime, bonuses, commissions, shift differentials, holidays as well as uploads of additional employee deductions and agency hours from external software/vendors, as directed by Human Resouces, Department Directors, Vice Presidents and other Executives.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits and other deductions.
  • Reconciles payroll and paid leave to the general ledger ensuring transactions align correctly. May also audit accounts to identify and address any irregularities.
  • Provides reporting to accounting team and other department heads as needed.
  • Collaborates with human resources to ensure benefit bills are reconciled in a timely fashion against payroll deductions, tracking new hires and terminations in conjunction with credits and back charges from vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience with ADP, or similar payroll software.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Must adhere to confidentiality required of role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Certification (CPP) preferred. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Three to five years of hands on payroll processing experience required.
