Custodian/Janitor-NE_Administration-101The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Custodian/Janitor for the Athens Corps, located in Athens, GA.Job SummaryCleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies; Sweeps, vacuums, mops and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks; Cleans windows; dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures; Cleans kitchen and dining area; washes dishes; cleans and defrosts refrigerator; cleans stoves and ovens; Stocks and sorts pantry items; Empties trash cans regularly; collects trash from grounds; Assists in monitoring light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order; replaces light bulbs as necessary;Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds; Ability to follow instructions and work independently; Ability to read and communicate the English language Education and ExperienceNo formal education or experience required; Six (6) months experience performing general housekeeping duties; Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
