Overview

To build and strengthen the character of Jr. and Sr. High School students through recreation (basketball).

Responsibilities

• Teach the students how to play/respect the game of basketball, enforcing the rules
• Responsible for developing and running a 2-hour basketball program 1-2 times a week
• for youth ages 12-19
• Responsible for developing and running a 2-hour basketball program once a week for youth ages 7-11
• Responsible for collecting the stats for the Corps Officer on a monthly basis
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the gymnasium, hallways, and restroom facilities throughout the Corps building
• Notify the Youth Assistant of any issues
• Report to the Youth Assistant any problems, injuries, or incidents involving the property, program and/or the participants
• The Assistant Basketball Coach reports directly to the Youth assistant regarding all youth and family recreation related issues
• The Assistant Basketball Coach is responsible for maintaining a safe and structured environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or experience with basketball coaching
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving and assessment with the ability to multitask
• Work as a team player as well as independently
• Good organizational skills, writing skills and communication skills are a must
• Has respect and consideration for the people being served
