Do you enjoy teaching high school level humanities and have the energy, passion, and creativity to engage with gifted middle school students?
We are seeking an experienced, adaptable, and approachable social studies and English teacher to join our team as a vital member of the Upper School Faculty, with the potential to evolve into an academic leadership role. As an educator in our school, you will guide students through a dynamic learning experience that combines interactive classroom discussions, small group instruction, and project-based learning opportunities. In Sage’s Upper School (Grades 5-8), students will explore the interconnectedness of the world through in-depth studies of social studies and English, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the micro and macro levels of society. By delving into topics such as historical events, cultural studies, literature, and language arts, students will develop critical thinking skills and a nuanced perspective on the interconnected nature of the human experience. Beyond that, you will play a crucial role in cultivating strong writing skills among middle school students, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and expression. Our interdisciplinary program ensures that social studies and English remain relevant, updated, and closely integrated with other subjects. Students are empowered to cultivate independence and pursue their unique interests and passions, fostering a love for learning and a deeper understanding of the interconnected disciplines of social studies and English.
