The Royal Group is Hiring a 44301-I/L-Supervision (Cic) - Quality Manager Near Schaumburg, IL

The Royal Group, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Quality Manager to support our Cicero, IL facility. The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, planning, directing Quality activities in support of the company’s quality assurance operations and goals. Ensures that company standards are achieved and maintaining a focus on continuous improvement, providing support, structure, and formalized training for all employees within the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
.
  • Participates in preplanning and new item meetings with plant management understanding the overall scope of a given project.
  • Trains, implements, maintains, and communicates quality processes and procedures throughout the organization. Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Conducts daily inspections on the floor and final inspections ensuring that Quality standards are being met.
  • Continuously reviews Quality records to ensure that no errors have occurred, or if an error has occurred, initiate the investigation for the root cause and corrective action.
  • Documents all defects found and notifies management of the findings for a resolution.
  • Continuously trains on the Quality standards, processes, and procedures ensuring that everyone is current regarding procedures or findings that have occurred within other lines of operation. Collaborates with other members of management to develop new training methods.
  • Manages and provides input into quality systems including corrective actions, customer complaint resolution and change control, quality procedures, standards, policies, and documentation systems.
  • Conducts QMS internal auditing and quality system reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Directs and continuously improves standards for the disposition of finished products. Reworks standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods, procedures, and updating quality assurance procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and other requirements.
  • Prepares and conducts quality review meetings with the management team by continuously improving quality and reliability standards. Conducts regular quality meetings with necessary departments.
  • Complete special projects upon request.
  • Supervise and direct work of Quality Assurance Associate.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work with Plant manager, Plant Superintendent, and Recruiting Manager to set up and implement a new employee on-boarding process.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Collect and compile statistical data.
  • Audit/calibrate production floor testing equipment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality related field (TQM, SPC, problem solving, and ISO 9000.)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in management or progressive career growth
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge in the use of all MS Office software programs and other quality software programs.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.
PREFFERED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • A college degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.)
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Six Sigma Certification.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency and self -motivation; ability to work independently.
  • Language Skills - Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentage, area, and volume. Ability concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information or standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Leadership Attributes – must possess the following: Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effecting and efficient meeting. Excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution. Professional appearance to support his/her role as a managerial representative.
