Custodian – Office Services

Blue Ridge Summit, PA

Rowman & Littlefield is seeking a full-time Custodian to perform daily cleaning duties at our Blue Ridge Summit, PA facility. The qualified candidate will have experience in housekeeping and will ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for our employees. 

Responsibilities

• Daily servicing, cleaning, and supplying of all floors, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, etc., according to the Company's approved cleaning procedures.
  1. Dust surfaces
  2. Clean windows
  3. Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping
  4. Spot and steam clean carpets when necessary
  5. Strip and wax/polish floors when necessary
• Empty recycling paper, and refill copy paper regularly
• Empty trash and clean trash receptacles when necessary

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform a considerable amount of physical daily activity. Must have the ability to use your whole body to bend, stoop, walk, push, lift, and climb. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• At least one full year of experience cleaning in a commercial environment. 
• Must be able to read and follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. 
• A professional demeanor and good communication skills are required. The best candidate will be able to take direction and engage in regular communication with others frequently.
