Special Events Coordinator (24 hours per week)

$19.00 to $22.00 per hour

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church

DESCRIPTION

  • Write and administer user agreements for property rentals
  • Assist with coordination and leadership of annual BBQ/Fiesta
  • Explore and write grant requests
  • Solicit sponsors for OLPH fund raising events
  • Liaison with LA Archdiocese offices of Development, Communication, Real Estate, and Construction
  • Assist in managing campaign for the construction of the new church. This will involve organizing campaign events and tracking pledges, payments and related paperwork.
  • Maintain content on OLPH parish website
  • Analyze proposed service and cost improvement initiatives
  • Conceive and implement parish fund raisers
  • Conceive and implement parish community building events
  • Develop features and graphics for OLPH parish bulletin
  • Back up the parish Business Administrator in the following areas:
    • Check writing
    • Quickbook entries
    • Collection counting
  • Manage projects defined by Pastor and Business Manager
  • Work schedule is 24 hours per week during normal business hours. Specific days and time will be worked out with the Parish Business Manager
  • Work schedule maybe modified as needed at discretion of Business Manager when support is needed for after hour or weekend events

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Practicing Roman Catholic with a commitment to own faith life.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in these areas:
    • Planning and executing events for large numbers of people
    • Conceiving and executing fund raising events
    • Soliciting and obtaining sponsorships
    • Writing grant requests.
  • Able to communicate with all age groups, from varying cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Knowledgeable in use of computers, copy machines and scanners
  • Familiar with use of media and technology
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications and Google Drive

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
