We are seeking a passionate early primary teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early primary education and the ability to effectively communicate concepts to students in a way that is engaging and accessible. They will instruct students in various subjects according to school curriculum and standards, help to foster spiritual growth of students, and create a safe and inclusive learning environment that aligns with the Catholic faith.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery
– Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with the school’s curriculum and instructional goals.
– Utilize various teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
– Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into lesson plans and classroom activities.
2. Classroom Management
– Maintain a well-organized and stimulating learning environment conducive to academic success and personal growth.
– Establish and enforce classroom rules and expectations consistent with Catholic principles of respect, compassion, and responsibility.
– Foster a sense of community and cooperation among students through collaborative activities and group projects.
3. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
– Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
– Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents to support their academic growth and development.
– Monitor student progress and intervene as needed to address individual learning needs and challenges.
4. Communication and Collaboration
– Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic concerns.
– Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance the overall educational experience and promote a cohesive school culture.
– Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in education and Catholic pedagogy.
5. Spiritual Formation:
– Foster the spiritual development of students through prayer, reflection, and the integration of Catholic teachings into all aspects of school life.
– Lead religious instruction, sacramental preparation, and participation in liturgical celebrations.
– Serve as a positive role model of Catholic values and virtues for students and the broader school community.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Primary Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
2. Valid teaching certification/license
3. Proficiency in Catholic teachings and a commitment to integrating faith into the curriculum.
4. Prior experience early primary teaching in a Catholic school or familiarity with Catholic education principles (preferred).
5. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
7. Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
