We are seeking an Associate Attorney with criminal law experience who will grow with our firm. As an Associate at The Rodriguez Law Group, you will play a vital role in our mission to protect the rights and interests of our clients. You will work closely with arguably the most experienced criminal defense attorney in the industry on a wide variety of criminal cases, including, but not limited to, misdemeanors, felonies, DUI/DWI, drug offenses, white-collar crimes, and more. You will gain the unique and rare advantage of learning how to defend criminal cases from the perspective of a former career-prosecutor. You will also have the opportunity to gain ample trial and court experience.
We are located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, an easy commute to and from most locations.
If you are hired, you will receive full health benefits, a 401k plan and paid legal trainings to help you master your skills as a criminal defense attorney and a litigator. You will also collect a commission-based bonus that will allow you to earn far more than the listed salary.
Responsibilities:
• Handle your own case load, start to finish
• Make appearances in court and/or before government agencies
• Argue motions and other court hearings
• Conduct trials
• Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs and pleadings
• Advise clients on business and legal transactions
• Negotiate settlements
• Meet with prospective clients for legal consultations
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Participate in client intake
• Interview clients, witnesses, and law enforcement personnel
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case management
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar [State] and in good standing
• 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense preferred (though exceptional
candidates with relevant internships or coursework will be considered)
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in Spanish is a major plus
