The Robot Garage is Hiring a Retail and Booking Associate Near Birmingham, MI

Our lofty industrial space in Birmingham is a vibrant center for creativity, learning, and fun! Position Overview:

Our retail associates are pivotal as they represent the heart of our company, offering outstanding customer service and guidance to all our visitors. If you're enthusiastic about technology and making a difference in others' lives, this opportunity is tailor-made for you. As a Retail Associate at The Robot Garage, you'll be the friendly face that greets parents and students, the person they trust to help guide their decisions. From booking birthday parties to recommending the perfect camp or class, you'll be an integral part of our team ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist everyone who enters the store or calls, providing information about our programs and merchandise.
  • Check in students for in-store programs and show them to their event room.
  • Support teachers and event leads as needed during classes and other programs.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns with the rest of the team.
  • Register children for classes, camps, parties and other programs, guiding parents through the booking process and answering any questions they may have.
  • Process sales transactions accurately, including merchandise, program fees, and party payments.
  • Monitor store cleanliness and restroom supplies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and attractiveness of merchandise shelving, ensuring it is well-stocked and appealing.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Basic knowledge of technology and willingness to learn about our products and operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers of all ages.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues as needed.

Nice To Haves:

  • Interest in robotics and technology.
  • Enjoy building and creating with Lego or other mediums.
  • Participation in or knowledge of FIRST Robotics.
  • Experience working with kids.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
