Overview

The Property Accounting Intern will be responsible for assisting with special projects related to our monthly close procedures. The Property Accounting Intern will work closely with the Capital Accounting team to assist with the monthly deliverables and to craft improvements to a variety of Job Cost and Fixed Assets processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with documentation of internal policies and procedures.
• Assist in operational implementation of accounting policies.
• Participate in various aspects of the monthly close process.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and research property accounting issues as needed.
• Prepare various fixed asset schedules and maintain job cost system with accurate data.

Qualifications

• Availability to work 40 hours per week.
• Currently a junior or senior at an accredited college or university with a mix of business and accounting coursework.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Previous office and accounting experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially Excel.
• Strong sense of ownership and pride in one’s work.
• Strong organizational skills and verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely articulate results.
• Excellent work ethic with a desire to learn.
