RVF

The Riverside Value Fund (“RVF”) is a private equity fund focused on complex buyouts of middle market businesses in attractive end markets that are facing financial, operational and/or structural challenges, where near term improvement is readily achievable. Transaction types may include corporate divestitures, operational turnarounds, structured securities and restructurings. RVF is investing from their inaugural fund within the Riverside platform and is building its team in connection with continued growth of the portfolio and to be well positioned for a subsequent fund-raise. Riverside now has eight other strategies, four equity funds and three debt funds, around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Associates play a key investment support role, focused both on transactional work and hands-on portfolio company management. Associates are expected to get up the learning curve quickly and participate in all aspects of the investment process.

Main associate tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Providing quality input and feedback on new deal opportunities.
• Playing a key role in analyzing new investment opportunities. This includes detailed financial analysis, market and competitive due diligence and participating in investment committee meetings.
• Conducting in depth product, customer and channel analysis, evaluating stability of price and margins.
• Building detailed operational models for acquisitions, mergers and ongoing portfolio management.
• Supporting deal team in coordinating third party work.
• Supporting portfolio company work, including research projects and analyses in support of company initiatives and portfolio exits.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Successful Associates at Riverside will be self-starters, with strong analytical skills, a curiosity to learn, and a passion for driving operational change. These skills should be complemented with strong communication skills and presence to interact with management teams, investment bankers and other deal sources, as well as other consultants. Detailed requirements are:

• 2 years transaction experience at an investment bank, ideally with M&A, leveraged finance or restructuring experience; private equity experience welcome
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
• Strong quantitative & analytical skills
• Financial modeling expertise

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (face-to-face, telephone, and written communication)

This position requires extensive work hours and moderate to heavy travel
