At YMCA Camp Greenknoll, staff plays an important role in our campers' life. Not only are you responsible for planning and executing planned projects for campers, you also play an important part in building confidence and self-esteem. Counselors must assist in teaching skills and program activities while maintaining standards that lead to a safe and quality progressive program. A counselor must have integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, and respect. This position is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean summer program; ensuring a high level of program quality and working to establish a positive relationship with all program participants and their families
Must be an individual of at least 16 years old, previous childcare experience preferred. Counselors must possess the ability to accept guidance and supervision and a desire to stand out and take initiative. Must be able to handle many different types of camper situations and think on your feet.
Counselors must identify and meet the needs of all campers and participants, making each experience positive and unique.
Staff will provide a positive role model to youth & teens within the philosophy of The Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut standards and expectations with emphasis on character counts philosophy and youth development. All Staff must demonstrate the following...
YMCA Camp Greenknoll starts on June 17, 2024 and ends on August 16, 2024. Nine weeks.
Staff MUST be available to work 8 weeks.
Staff training will start the week of June 3, 2024.
