Accounting Director in Waukesha County
We are partnering with a City in Waukesha County that is looking for a new Accounting Director to join the team. They have fantastic benefits and really promote work life balance. Plus, compensation is pretty generous for this type of role!
Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of the accounting/finance department
- Maintain internal controls
- Lead annual budgeting procedures
- Analyze the potential fiscal impact of City policy initiatives
- Coordinate financial audits each year
- Oversee cash handling, AP, AR, GL, month end
- Coordinate tax revenue collection and distribution of revenue
- Oversee all risk management
- Advise the Mayor, City Administrator, and Finance & Personnel Committee regarding appropriate changes in accounting policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting/finance experience
- Government or non-profit accounting/finance experience
- Prior leadership experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
