The Recovery Center of Kentucky is Hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional-Lexington, KY Near Lexington, KY

Job description

The Recovery Center USA is a trauma-informed organization that firmly believes that community lies at the heart of recovery. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals seeking treatment for mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorder challenges. As we continue to expand our mission to eliminate stigma and promote healing, we are seeking a dynamic ParaProfessional to join our team.
```Duties```
- Assist special education teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs
- Support students in academic and behavioral tasks, including math and literacy education
- Collaborate with the teacher to develop and implement lesson plans that meet the unique needs of each student
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth
- Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene, as needed
- Use behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive social skills
```Experience```
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development for special education students
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
