Annual Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000

  • WORK LIFE BALANCE:  In addition to a ten-month school year during which our staff are offered on average 33 days off (approximately 7 weeks) for scheduled holidays and school breaks, we provide generous preparation periods throughout each week, limiting the number of after work hours you will need to work — so that you can live the life you wish for — inside and outside of our school. Additionally, our students are dismissed midday each Friday in order for you to meet with your team and division, as well as plan, and prep.

  • EXTRAS You can build a private practice or tutor onsite during after school hours at low-cost reduced rates, available only to our Quad Prep staff.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Cloverleaf Clinical Advisor & Speech-Language Pathologist works with our high school student population to provide individualized support and guidance to address their social-emotional needs and social and skill-based readiness to facilitate their successful transition after high school graduation. The Cloverleaf Transitions Program supports our high school students in their transition to post-secondary education or the workforce. The program aims to provide comprehensive guidance and support to students, and their families, in navigating this critical phase of their lives. The Cloverleaf Clinical Advisor & Speech-Language Pathologist will work closely with the Director of the Cloverleaf Transitions Program to create transition programming for all high school students; this role also includes delivering speech and language services to a subset of our high school students. 

  • Meet with high school students at varying intervals based on their grade level to discuss topics related to post-secondary planning:

    • Meet with graduating students on a weekly basis to discuss and aid in execution of post-secondary plans

    • Meet with eleventh-grade students on a monthly basis to discuss post-secondary plans, apply for internships/jobs, explore extracurricular activities associated with personal interests, and support the acquisition of working papers

    • Meet with ninth and tenth-grade students on an as-needed basis to discuss post-secondary plans, apply for internships/jobs, explore extracurricular activities associated with personal interests, and support the acquisition of working papers

  • Serve as Testing Coordinator for the high school subset of the Upper School 

    • Serve as main contact for for Quad Prep with the College Board

      • Track all relevant college admissions testing deadlines with the College Board, including PSAT/NMSQT 11, PSAT 10, PSAT 8/9 (where applicable), SAT and AP exams

      • Identify, confirm, and register all Quad Prep students for all testing above in a timely fashion

      • Track and meet deadlines to arrange testing with testing companies

      • Coordinate family communication regarding test registration and applying for any appropriate accommodations by the College Board deadlines

      • Submit accommodations requests, with any needed documentation, to the College Board and track approvals, including follow up with families and students as to those accommodations that have been approved. 

      • Monitor registration details for all testing, including digital testing 

      • Work with Upper School administration to assure for adequate testing space, proctors and supplies (including College Board approved testing calculators)

      • Help troubleshoot any issues with score retrieval that may arise with the College Board once scores are available from the College Board

      • Coordinate with the college counseling dept to inform students and parents of all scores after testing

    • Work with school leadership to schedule testing dates that align with the school calendar

    • Track and meet deadlines to arrange testing with testing companies

    • Work with the school's IT coordinator to arrange for any digital testing, including installing testing software on ChromeBooks and being involved in student orientation to any new digital testing platforms 

    • Organize test proctors

    • Work with proctors on the day of testing to assure a smooth testing operation and to troubleshoot any last minute issues, including technical, that may arise

    • Maintain a list of accommodations as reference for other staff members on students’ teams to be aware of, and for official testing (CollegeBoard, etc.)

    • Orchestrate NWEA testing across the Upper School twice per year

    • Demonstrate the ability to read and assess clinical documentation and communicate with parents as to the current status of accommodations for their student as listed on their IEP or neuropsychological evaluation

  • Support students’ development of metacognitive skills and self-efficacy:

    • Work closely with the Director of Cloverleaf Transitions to organize and prepare for transition planning meetings and develop school-based student programs

    • Collaborate with Upper School clinical and academic teams to facilitate students’ development of post-secondary plans, create an effective learning environment to foster students’ development of self-efficacy, and support families through the post-secondary planning process

    • With other members of the Upper School clinical team, co-lead weekly post-secondary planning classes for graduating students, providing social-cognitive based intervention 

    • Provide individual or additional speech-language sessions and intervention for this caseload of students as needed

    • Provide scaffolding that relates to executive function skills necessary for post-secondary life, and model this in session management and execution of post-secondary planning tasks

  • Co-facilitate monthly parent meetings with Director of Cloverleaf Transitions

  • Work collaboratively with school administrators, colleagues, and parents to deliver a fully-integrated, student-centered learning environment for each individual learner

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with diverse populations and students’ families

  • Participate in all training and staff development modules, including reading required books and articles on cutting-edge 2E and other educational developments

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with adolescents and a strong understanding of adolescent development

  • Master’s degree in speech-language pathology

  • State licensure in speech-language pathology and ASHA certification

  • Experience working with twice-exceptional youth

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a school setting. The school is located on the ground, fifth, and sixth floors of a building with an elevator. This role requires working in various locations around the school and occasional travel to the Lower School campus approximately two blocks away.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active and involves continuous standing, walking, and climbing stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items under 20 pounds. Typing is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time exempt position in an educational facility that is open eight hours a day. However, we are open to candidates who are interested in a part-time opportunity (at least .6 full-time equivalency). Teachers, psychosocial teachers, and staff clinicians work ten months out of the year according to the academic calendar (late August to late June). Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required, anticipate at least three of these events throughout the year. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm.

Compensation is dependent upon experience and degree obtained.
