The Prospective Group (TPG) is looking for a Technical Writer for the Department of State (DOS) who has a strong work ethic, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is detail oriented, and is organized. This candidate should have experience of working with a team with varying priorities.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Review, draft, and/or edit content such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Memorandum of Agreements (MOA), Online help files, training material, meeting notes, and web site content
  • Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation
  • Quality, content, and prompt delivery of all task and contractual deliverables associated with the project
  • Assist in facilitating meetings
  • Employ agile principle to establish a two-week deployment schedule
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension
  • Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions
  • Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed
  • Coordinate tasks to include tracking delivery, tracking installation, and ensuring operations and security protocols are properly conducted
  • Liaise between end users, stakeholders, and on-site government employees
  • Collaborate with members of the product team to decompose large epics into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team
  • Help facilitate planning sessions with clients and team members to ensure that planned work is well-defined, planned, articulated, and understood
  • Instruct, guide, and mentor team members in the usage of Microsoft DevOps for the purposes of planning and tracking of their work using the Agile methodology
Position Requirements:
  • 3 Years of experience as Technical Writer, Business Analyst, and/or similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (English, Literature, and/or Writing a plus) or equivalent work experience
  • Well-versed in Agile with a familiarity with IT
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid experience creating analysis documentation for multiple audiences
  • Experience creating and using infographics such as diagrams, screenshots, charts, workflows, and graphics that increase users’ understanding
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical team members, and stakeholders at different levels in IT field

  • Able to manage shifting priorities
  • Great customer service skills
  • Strong focus and commitment to providing end user customer service
  • Adept in managing changing priorities and demanding schedules
