The Post Oak Hotel is Hiring a Runner Near Houston, TX

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Wine Runner to join our hotel team. We hire individuals that are committed to providing a remarkable guest experience and changing the standard of luxury.

  • Maintains the general organization and cleanliness of the wine cellar, including managing wine location numbers, and monitoring inventory.
  • Fulfills requisition orders for the various F&B outlets within The Cellar at the Post Oak wine program.
  • Ensures that wines are properly received from distributors, and that all products are correctly stocked.
  • Monitors inventory levels within the Cellar to ensure that items may be properly reordered (where applicable), and that all Wine Directors are kept informed of 86ed items.
  • Assists the Director of Beverage with routine inventory.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures;
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Support all Colleagues and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 35 lbs without assistance.
  • Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Maintain a positive image and energy

Requirements :

  • A sincere desire to provide the utmost in guest service
  • Professional Grooming and Appearance
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail a must
  • Basic computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays with strong schedule flexibility to accommodate needs of the operation.

Education & Experience :

  • Sommelier Certification
  • College Degree
  • One to three years of restaurant experience
  • TABC and Food Handler’s Certification a plus
