The Point Church is looking for a self-led, secure leader who gathers and empowers people in their walks with Jesus in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia!

Our mission is to Love God, Love People, and Love Life (Matthew 22:36-40 & 16:25), and we strive to make disciples who do the same. The Point started in 2009, grew exponentially by God’s hand, and we now meet in person at two campuses and online. God has given us the vision to have an ongoing presence in 50 communities, 50 cities, and in 50 countries in our first 50 years as a church. It’s a big vision, but any vision that doesn’t include reaching the world for Jesus is too small. That’s why we need YOU to plow, plant, and water the soil for God’s growth as the Charlottesville Campus Pastor.

What your purpose is as the Charlottesville Campus Pastor: You’ll shepherd the campus by creating inspirational moments that challenge, lead, and disciple people to grow towards individual and church-wide kingdom impact in a way that spans across generations and ripples for eternity long after we are gone.

What you’re entrusted to do:

• Speak with purpose, power, and vision: Connect everything back to our mission, strategic focus, and unifying vision from the stage, in large groups, and in the community.

• Shepherd & disciple people: Prompt people to take a step in their spiritual journey- mobilize disciples!

• Serve, develop and empower campus staff and Dream Team:
  •  Lead the way for emotionally & spiritually healthy campus relationships in all situations.
  •  Lead the execution of campus initiatives 

• Continuously improve systems toward kingdom impact:
• Represent Jesus and The Point authentically in every aspect of how you live in the community and where you are.

What your Campus looks like: Average of 1500 attendees across three Sunday morning services; four direct report staff members who oversee additional staff & volunteers; a $12.5 million facility built in 2020 in the Pantops neighborhood; Monday-Thursday regular office/meeting hours with additional scheduling based on ministry needs; weekly touchpoint meetings with your Campus Director, Executive Staff, & others.

Where your time will go: 40% people pastoring and developing our Dream Team, 30% staff & leadership development, 20% strategic implementation & operations improvement, 10% administrative duties.

What your background & abilities look like:

• Ministry & Management Experience: you have several years of pastoral ministry experience on staff at a church and a strong background managing a diverse team.
• Able to communicate: you speak publicly with clarity & intention, you make people feel comfortable, and you’re able to prepare Spirit-filled messages to preach periodically.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities: you can train & develop leaders, you help people realize their full potential, you know how to delegate, & you can build/evaluate/fine-tune highly effective systems.
• Discipleship strengths: you counsel people with wisdom, you care for and encourage people.
• Practical application: you’re organized, you respond to email/phone communications promptly (24-48 hours), you collaborate weekly to create the best Sunday service experience, you plan & implement special events at your campus alongside the team, you operate a healthy Growth Track program and regular Dream Team Training schedule.
