The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky is Hiring a Direct Support Professional Near Fort Mitchell, KY

The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky is a non-profit organization currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to serve 3-6 adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in group home settings. Full-time and part-time positions available in group home locations throughout Northern Kentucky - in Ludlow, Edgewood, Erlanger, Independence, Newport, Alexandria, Florence and Burlington.

Part-time positions pay between $14.04 and 16.38 per hour following completion of training. Full-time positions start between $16.38 and $18.72 per hour after completion of training.

Primary responsibilities of the DSP include:

  • Provide personal care to residents including showering/bathing, skin care, grooming, dressing/undressing, transfers, positioning, meal and hydration assistance
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of each resident at all times
  • Ensure the safety, welfare and rights of all residents
  • Assist residents with daily living activities
  • Assist in evaluating residents' abilities in self-care, home management and social/leisure skills
  • Transport residents to various community locations
  • Use agency vehicles and equipment responsibly
  • Be responsible for providing a homelike environment while meeting the physical, social, and psychological needs of the residents
  • Provide ongoing supportive training to assist residents in achieving their maximum potential for independence and self-direction
  • Respond as trained to any medical issues that arise in the home
  • Document residents' individual program plans, goals, and daily progress notes
  • Administer and oversee medications in accordance with established policies and procedures (training provided)
  • Assist in meal preparation and menu planning
  • Maintain a healthy and clean living environment
  • Other related duties as assigned

Eligible candidates must be at least 21 years of age OR 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. STNA, CNA, CMA, DSP trained applicants are strongly encouraged.

Prior experience working with individuals with I/DD is a plus. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and extensive background checks. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must have weekday and weekend availability, all shifts needed.
