The Plastek Group is seeking a 3rd shift Molding Foreman.

This role is a supporting role to the Plastics Production Manager on the production manufacturing floor in the Molding Department. This role acts in the capacity of maintaining a structured work environment that benefits all employees at Plastek. You will act as a liaison between the Production Manager and other supporting staffing, ensuring that procedures are being followed, while also suggesting ideas for streamlining processes.

Perform necessary supervisory duties assisting in personnel relations as well as manufacturing performance.

Routine activities include maintaining and updating Processes, Procedures, Work Instructions, Worksheets to Collect Data, TPM Support, KPI Support and Workflow to Maximize Efficiencies.

Assisting the Mold Techs, Hopper Fillers and Mold Set-Up Techs assuring compliance with standard operating procedures and policies.

Assuring that the installation of tooling & auxiliary equipment will operate properly when moved to production.

Assuring / auditing plastic processing parameters are conforming to the qualified molding conditions.

Assuring a safe and non-threating work environment.

EDUCATION

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

• 3-5 years production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment preferably in molding manufacturing environment and/or other manufacturing disciplines will be considered

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Active champion of productivity improvement efforts to meet company goals and objectives.
• Responsible for all foreman / technical molding supervisor activities and duties that are performed on the manufacturing floor for the designated shift.
• Responsible for monitoring, reducing and maintain standard cycle times, cavitation levels, KPI goals and scrap levels.
• Review previous shift’s KPI reports.
• Report all relevant / necessary information to oncoming shift supervisor

(Corrective Actions, Startup, Incidents, KPI / TPM Incidents, Safety, Sets & etc.)

• Review previous shift’s KPI reports. Generate end of shift reports detailing the performance of KPI’s for their shift

• Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties and/or delegated tasks

• Receive complaints and resolve problems on the molding floor.

• Prepare and submit employee reviews to management.

• Evaluate, Write & Train on a procedure(s).
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.

• Conduct Audits of:

o Company policies and procedures to ensure they are being followed o Paperwork (Evaluate for errors, incomplete paperwork, & etc.) o Mold Pm’s being properly completed and performed correctly. o Safety Audits o Molding floor for cleanliness and organization. o Plastic processing parameters to ensure they are conforming to qualified molding conditions.

• Assist all Setup, Hopper Fillers and Mold Techs with manufacturing related issues.
• Coordinate efforts with the Tool Room on molding issues.
• Maintain timekeeping records via Kronos & maintain vacation records for their personnel.
• SAP Computer System proficiency.
• Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
• Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
• Participate and/or lead TPM teams/events, KPI teams /events, 5s events, focus improvement activities and/or any other Plastek activities/events assigned to them.
• Maintain a neat and clean work and environment.
• Follow up on paperwork and procedures to ensure that they are being followed and completed properly.
• Maintain and champion employee morale and retention towards CPD’s KPIs.
• To achieve responsibilities outlined above it is expected to work Monday thru Friday, 45 hours, excluding lunch
