Summary:

The People Operations Partner plays a key role in the employee experience at The Place. The People Operations Partner provides sound guidance to employees and managers throughout all levels of the organization, manages the shared People Team Inbox, assists with processing payroll on a biweekly basis, conducts investigations thoroughly and confidentially, and owns several compliance-related processes with an eye for detail. The People Operations Partner has outstanding communication skills, an ability to evaluate a process and make recommendations to streamline it, fantastic organization and conflict management skills, and the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position is full-time, salaried exempt, and will report to the People Operations Manager. 

What You Will Do: 

  • Delivers high-quality HR service and supports a broad range of HR responsibilities. 
  • Participate in the cultivation of The Place’s culture to promote an exceptional people experience throughout the employee lifecycle. 
  • Support managers and employees through coaching on employee relations issues, policy or benefits questions. Provide clear and accurate advice in a timely manner. 
  • Conduct investigations, documents and recommend corrective actions due to policy violations such as harassment and reasonable suspicion. 
  • Assist with LOA, FMLA, STD, and Worker’s Comp claims.
  • Investigate workplace injuries and manage worker’s compensation process with employees and management. 
  • Create and support talent management initiatives including performance evaluations, talent reviews, succession planning, training/leadership development. 
  • Coordinates annual benefit open enrollment, including employee communications, presentations, meetings.
  • Handles corrective action and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. 
  • Provide administrative and operational support for all people processes from onboarding, employee changes, benefit administration, HR systems, compliance and offboarding, with a strong emphasis on the employee experience.
  • Assist with facilitating new hire orientations while creating a positive first impression of the company and serving as a role model for company principals. 
  • Serves as a backup for payroll processing in the absence of the People Operations Coordinator. 
  • Build and improve internal HR Operations processes to create efficiency and improve overall employee experience. 
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

What Will Set You Apart: 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Human Resources (HR Specialist, HR Representative or HR Coordinator) required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in employee relations required, including conducting investigations with minimal oversight and conflict resolution.
  • Paylocity Payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Ability to act with a high level of integrity.
  • Extremely detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate with employees throughout the entire organization. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets required deadlines. 
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and Labor laws.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field 
  • PHR or SHRM – CP certification 
  • Minimum 1 year of HR Generalist experience 
  • Paylocity HRIS experience
