POSITION PURPOSE:

The Vice President of Financial Services provides financial guidance and recommendations for all operations of the company to assure sound financial management in order to provide quality services to all clients.

NATURE & SCOPE:

The Vice President of Financial Services reports to the President. The Vice President of Financial services is responsible, in conjunction with the President and the Board of Directors, for the overall financial functioning of the company and the services it provides. The position requires extensive analysis, communication, organization, problem solving, decision making, and follow through on designated tasks. It requires meeting several deadlines per week. It involves a working knowledge of applicable financial rules, regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. The position requires the ability to be employed full time. This is an exempt position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & Essential Functions

· Manages the overall financial functioning of the company and the services it provides.

· Serves as in-house expert on funding rules including DWRS, MA, and GRH.

· Ensures adherence to nonprofit rules and regulation to maintain 501 (C) (3) status as a tax exempt organization.

· Serves as in house expert of Rep Payee management and best practices.

· Promote Person Centered Practices and Positive Support Strategies.

· Oversee payroll systems and assure compliance with state and federal labor laws.

· Assures exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers.

· Oversees all aspects of accounts payable and receivables.

· Oversees Human Resources Management and adherence to all state and federal laws.

· Actively participates in public policy initiatives to promote disability services.

· Serves as liaison to individual we support, families and vendors in understanding financial information.

  • Prepares annual budgets and monthly financial reports, analyzes, reviews, and makes recommendations on financial status.
  • Prepares and analyzes cash flow; prepares monthly journal entries according to generally accepted accounting procedures.
  • Prepares annual reimbursements reports; manages daily cash balances; verifies accuracy of all bank accounts.
  • Develops and maintains a purchasing procedure and inventory control.
  • Prepares schedules and assists independent auditor at year end.
  • Prepares grant proposals to obtain supplemental funding.
  • Oversees functioning of computer system.
  • Prepares quarterly and annual reports and performs other financial related duties as they occur.

· Monitors and manages various financial actions, such as payroll, bank accounts, tax preparations, audits, etc.

· Supervise Financial Department employees.

· Adheres to all Phoenix Residence, Inc. policies and procedures and all licensing agency requirements.

· Communicates effectively and displays positive, supportive, and cooperative conduct.

· Attends all mandatory in-services and others as necessary.

QUALIFATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA preferred

· 5 or more years- experience in the Health Care industry preferred. Specific Knowledge of ICF/DD and Waiver homes.

· Has a working knowledge of funding systems / disability services sector / LTC

· 3 or more years of management experience.

· 3 or more years managing social security benefit implementation as it relates to representative payee requirements.

· Experience with payroll management.

· Experience with benefits management.

· Ability to be employed Full time.

· Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

· Ability to sit for long periods of time.

· Ability to bend, stoops, and reaches.

· Experience with computer systems preferred.

· Ability to travel between sites and, if driving holds a valid license and maintains a safe driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
