Phillips Academy seeks a writer-in-residence to fill the Roger F. Murray Chair in Creative Writing. This is a two-year appointment to begin in September of 2023 with the possibility of renewal for up to two more years. It is a housed faculty position. Responsibilities include teaching two seminar classes in creative writing per trimester, one in poetry and one in fiction. Both classes are high-level senior electives with a maximum of 15 students per class. We seek dynamic candidates who will be active participants in our academic and residential programs. Minimum requirements include one published book and demonstrated success as a teacher of creative writing at the university or secondary-school level.
