Job: Senior Program Manager, Clinical Interns
Reports to: Director of Mental Health Administration
Supervises: Clinical Interns
Status: Full-time, Exempt, Management
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Westside Mental Health Office, 1749 14th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director, Mental Health Administration, the Senior Program Manager, Clinical Internships of Intern Training will collaborate with Mental Health, Access Center, and Interim Housing programs to coordinate department-wide field placement opportunities. The Senior Program Manager, Clinical Internships will conduct needs assessments, coordinate and provide intern supervision (group and individual), coordinate and provide intern trainings and orientation, represent the agency at clinical internship fairs, and coordinate with the agency's Manager, Intern Relations on administrative functions.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obtain and maintain LPS-Designation and provide crisis support with 5150 Applications to Mental Health Department as needed.
2. Provide Individual Supervision as Field Instructor to Clinical Interns as needed to support Programs in Mental Health Department.
3. In collaboration with Program Directors and Director of Quality Assurance, develop and coordinate training of DMH Documentation for Clinical Interns.
4. Conduct clinical needs assessment throughout the department to determine capacity and scope of work within each program for clinical internship placements.
5. Attend school fairs and functions related to clinical field placement.
6. Develop strong and collaborative relationships with various training programs, schools, and universities to facilitate effective clinical field placements.
7. Coordinate with Learning Department to execute initial agreements with training programs, schools, and universities.
8. Serve as the subject matter expert for field placement program requirements and core competencies from which clinical interns are being placed from.
9. Conduct interviews of clinical field placement candidates and coordinate with affiliated training program/school and agency program.
10. In collaboration with HR and Field Instructors, assist in facilitating onboarding, orientation, and training for incoming clinical interns.
11. Develop training materials and conduct trainings to support the learning and education of clinical interns placed throughout the agency.
12. Implement systems department-wide to ensure that the experience of clinical field placement interns are consistent throughout the department.
13. Provide individual and group clinical supervision to interns working towards completion of field placement hours.
14. Provide Clinical Consultation and Crisis Response as needed.
15. Provide coordination and oversite ensuring that all clinical interns are receiving appropriate individual and group supervision.
16. Ensure field instructors are connected to and have completed the required Field Instructor Supervision Training and any additional training as needed.
17. Act as a liaison between Schools and Agency Field Instructors/Supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Licensed within the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.
2. 2 years post graduate in a clinical-related field (MSW, MFT, Master's Psychology/Clinical Counseling).
3. Four years' experience in the delivery of social services.
4. Experience with DMH Documentation and administrative duties.
5. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to provide quantitative analysis.
6. Strong experience with computer applications including WORD and EXCEL required. Knowledge of PowerPoint desirable.
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks and relate to diverse groups.
8. Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, computer, and cross-cultural communication skills. Strong interpersonal and team building skills.
9. Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care principles and harm reduction models preferred.
10. Must maintain and execute confidential information using HIPAA standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
1. Licensed within the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Combination of field and office environment
2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
3. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
4. Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
5. Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
6. May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
